Around Christmas time

You wouldn't believe it from my lack of attention to the blog, but we actually took hundreds of pictures over the Christmas season.  Lots of them follow a particular theme and will have their own posts.  But, here are some random fun pictures from throughout the Christmas season for your enjoyment.

The girls admiring the Christmas tree on 12.23.

Enjoying the beautiful First Presidency Christmas devotional on 12.4.

We decorated gingerbread men (and various Christmas shapes) on the night of 12.4 as well.

On Sunday, 12.11 we went to church at . . . Daddy's work!

Elder Richard G. Scott visited our area for Stake Conference.
The church rented our the high school gym to accommodate all our members.

Our Christmas check-list.  We did it all!

Claire made this adorable nativity picture in nursery on 12.18.
I love how she colors in "curly-cues."

Let me make this clear: We did NOT send out Christmas cards this year.  We normally send about 125 and cutting back on the cost of stamps was very helpful for our budget.  Plus, a seven months pregnant gal deserves one less thing on her list here and there.  But, if we HAD, they would have looked like this (I designed them and printed a few for free).

Hallie kept herself busy during Claire's nap times with several Christmas art projects.
This is Santa and an angel colored with chalk.

I helped her trace and cut out her hand print for this Christmas wreath.
I love five-year-old art projects!

Our family at the Ward Christmas Party on 12.3.  It was packed!
We are so grateful for the great people we go to church with.

On a more somber note, we spent time visiting Mike's grave site on 12.10.

It still doesn't seem real, but is nice to make it look pretty nonetheless.

Chris put up our Christmas lights.

I decorated our pots and carriage lights.

Hallie kicked about in the snow.

We received our wished-for Christmas snow!!!

Hallie colored a cute Christmas scene.

And Claire enjoyed some Christmas snacks.

Our cozy Christmas family room.

A view from one of the bedroom windows at night.

We were in awe of all the snowfall just days before Christmas.

We just love our little pine tree.
We didn't realize how much it had grown until we went to put on the lights.
It was two feet taller than last year!

Don't those put you in the Christmas mood . . . in the middle of January?
