Once there was a snowman

This little girl has soooo longed to build a snowman - for years.

But the truth is, sometimes snowmen are hard to come by where we live.

First we have to wait for the snow to actually come.  And then it needs to be the right consistency.

So many of our snows produce the light, swishy powder - perfect for skiing,

but miserable for even a marble-sized snowball.

Finally, the magical "snowman" snow came. 

And Hallie built her friend.

She knew just what he needed - including a carrot, a bubble accessory for a pipe, and mom's hat.

 

And this time when the sun came, he was the last to melt.  Thank you, snowman!
