Busy Boy

Chris and I were talking last night about how much faster Grant's first year went.
And then I realized how much faster (literally) it really went.

While Hallie was content to sit and play with one toy.
And Claire was content to sit and be held.
Grant is all about moving, going, and exploring!
He is our busy boy!

Some of his busy boy tricks:
  • picking lazily at the food on his tray
  • nonchalantly dropping food off his tray, one piece at a time, watching it drop
  • sliding is hands back and forth to send a spray of food flying all at once
  • seizing the opportunity to pop every piece of floor food into his mouth before Mommy sweeps
  • turning off the computer while Mom is in the middle of typing
  • sneaking into the bathroom to pull the screw cover off the bottom of the toilets
  • speed crawling to every night light to pull it out of the wall
  • taking Daddy's battery-operated alarm clock and hiding so Dad can't find it at night
  • pulling the base board door stops out (These are screwed in! He strips the screws!)
We love our busy boy!
And we even love his shenanigans because they remind us he is here.

St. Paddy's Fixins'

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This morning the kids were shocked that someone had hid Lucky Charms with the rest of the cereal.  Hallie declared it must be the work of a leprechaun!
Lo and behold, she shrieked with delight when she opened the fridge to find the milk was green.
That confirmed her suspicions!

Our entire kid collection is battling various stages of a cold.
Chris and I are hoping that Irish luck will prevail and the two of us will stay healthy.

Since our home is a bonafide sneeze factory, we kept our leprechauns home from church.
But, we still dressed them in their Sunday best for a quick family meeting and pictures.

I caught Claire directly before a sneeze!
Can't you just feel a tickle of sympathy in your nose for her?

Cabbages, potatoes, and sausage for dinner!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Some past St. Patrick's Days are here are here.

Reasons my husband and city and Heavenly Father are great . . .

Reasons my husband and city and Heavenly Father are great . . .
Because one Monday evening in February, Chris decided we should
hop in the car and drive ten minutes to this . . .

Boom.

Clairey's face hides her true excitement.

A crisp evening hike was just what we all needed.
We felt refreshed and rejuvenated.
More than anything, we felt grateful.

Life caught from a cell phone lens- February

The anniversary of our first date.
We love this day.

Family Date Night at Barnes N' Noble

The kids have a new pastime - taking pictures of Lincoln Log creations.

A sweet heart from our sweetheart.

Painting in pajamas is always a good time.

Valentine's decorations nestled into the regular stuff.

Went to Denver to see Liz!
Fun fact: Liz is best friends with my best friend from high school.
Which makes us best friends once removed.
Or just really good friends that met at 18.

On the 12th anniversary of our first date, the kids got to go on a special date with us.
That night we chose Mimi's Café.

Saturday morning cartoons with a little kid mess thrown in.
I just love how Chris propped Grant up.

Can we all tell this red hat is my new favorite?
Chris found it for me.
Perfect for a snowy day of car pool.

His first big boy jammies.

It looks as if we paint every day.
It's more like I take a picture because it's a special occasion.
I love how excited Grant is back there.

Chris caught this moment of family love one night after dinner.

Chris loves apple pie.
When we have less than 4 apples,
we make flat apple pie and only use one crust.

I caught my cute husband taking a nap using his robe as a blanket.
It most have broken his heart to think of messing up the perfectly made bed.

Thank you, February.
