Fall to-do list: pumpkin patch and apple orchard

We had such a fun time at the Happy Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch in Penrose. We went with some friends: Craig and Emily, Megan, Charlotte, and her daughter Dottie. After we picked out our pumpkins and apples we purchased fresh apple cider from their country store. It has such a different taste from the apple juice you buy at the store. This cider had a richer, buttery taste. It was delicious and was sipped up by us too quickly!

When we left it was a crisp, grey, fall day. When we got there (after a forty-five minute drive) it was sunny and hot! I felt uncomfortable in my "fall sweater." Chris and Hallie were wisely layered so they were much more comfortable.

Hallie was in stitches when she saw a dog barking. She was giggling hysterically. I wish I had a video camera with me. When we were at church on Sunday she cracked up again because she saw a three-year-old jumping up and down. It was pretty cute to see her reactions.

Today I asked her where her books were and she turned around and pointed right at her bookcase. The other day we asked her "Where's Daddy?" and she would look directly at Chris. When we asked "Where's Grandma?" she would turn her head across the room to look at Grandma Judy. When we asked "Where's Mommy?" she didn't do anything and looked straight ahead! Not that she doesn't know me-- I was her first word afterall. Apparently looking at me was not as fun as looking at Dad and Grandma.
