Want to know a cool coincidence? When one of your favorite friends since Kindergarten finds out she is pregnant with her first child just weeks after you find out. Want to know what is even cooler? When you both have girls! Julie's daughter Brooklyn and my daughter Hallie (you all know Hallie) have been friends since they were two and four months old! But, living two states away, they see each other about once a year. Thankfully, this year we were able to hang out at the beach and at Laura's house. Here is our precious beach day. It was gray but not too chilly. The girls basically had the harbor to themselves and Julie and I could just chat. Poor Julie got to listen to me give the nitty-gritty details of the last days of my father's life. Poor friend! But what a friend she is. Even though our conversation was deep at times, it skipped around to a million random topics like old friends do. It was still a light, fun day.
I've titled this post Broke-lyn and Howie because our cute three-year-olds can't say each other's names correctly even if we bribed them with candy (which is actually how I got Hallie to got to the car without a fit at the end of the day).
This is the beach my mom took us to when we were little!
Of course, Julie brought the cool beach toys (she is always so well-prepared).
Cheese!
"Wade in the water . . ." Julie might remember that song.
Love this one! They match their swimsuits.
Brooklyn is calm like a Disney princess and Hallie is all jazzed like the yellow sun.
Silly girls!
